Winter Camp and Summer Skills Program
What are you doing to be the best you can be?
The
winter camp and summer skills programs are designed
to develop and challenge all levels of players. The
curriculum includes work on fundamentals in group
and individual sessions, drills, games, and competition.
Most importantly, these programs take place in a fun
environment while promoting good sportsmanship.
All
players will have the opportunity each session to
train, work hard, improve, make new friends, and have
fun. Each athlete is highly encouraged to develop
new skills and achieve a new level of play while gaining
self-confidence.

Curriculum:
An
understanding of the four components of soccer will
be the emphasized and instructed in all training sessions
enabling the player to understand and enjoy the game
more while increasing the player’s ability to
grow in a positive environment.
The
Four Components of Coaching Soccer are:
-
The
Technical Component
-
The Tactical Component
-
The Physical component
-
The Psychological Component
The technical component refers to the
technique of skill performance. This is the “how
to perform the skill” part of the game. The
“mechanics” of skill performance!
For
example:
-
Where to place your non-kicking foot at the instant
you strike a ball…
-
Pointing
your toe down and locking your ankle when striking
a ball with your instep (laces)…
The tactical component refers to the “decision-making”
part of the game. This is the “when, why, what
and where” part of the game.
For example:
-
If you have possession of the ball, should you dribble
it, pass it to a teammate or shoot it…
-
If a ball has been served (passed) to you by a teammate,
should you receive it, kick or pass it on your first
touch or let it go…
The physical component refers
to the fitness part of the game. The elements of fitness
include:
Endurance, flexibility, agility, balance, speed, strength,
power…
The psychological component refers to he intangible part of the game such as:
Mental toughness, emotions, stress, attitude toward
self and others…
All
players will be instructed and encouraged to make SOCCER ALL ABOUT HAVING FUN, LEARNING, PARTICIPATING,
WORKING HARD, AND PLAYING FAIR IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT.
